Infection Control - The Basics

All healthcare workers need to know how to prevent and control diseases. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and The Joint Commission require training to ensure that all personnel can protect themselves from exposure to infectious agents. The goal of your facility is to prevent exposure and spread of infections to patients, visitors, volunteers, contractors, students, and staff.

COURSE OUTCOMES -- Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify hazards of infectious diseases in the workplace and tactics to reduce exposure
- Recognize major infectious diseases that may be present in your facility
