This course is designed to help you understand how, when and why to obtain an ABN (Advanced Beneficiary Notice). Medicare and your Fiscal Intermediaries have coverage determinations for specific tests and services that were created to give us guidelines on what is considered medically necessary. You will learn how to interpret these coverage determinations. CMS has created a new format for the ABN, and you will receive step by step instructions on how to complete and issue these forms.
